Hi

It would be nice have MT keep the window resize setting. I resize the window only to have it change back to a smaller default

Mouse Tracks does save both the size and location of the window of all 'size-able' forms within the application.

To test...

1. Open the Computer List
2. Position the form where you want it (not maximized)
3. Close the Computer List
4. Open the Computer List

You will notice it appears the same size and in the same position. This is also true if you close/reopen the application.

The settings are saved locally so if you use Mouse Tracks from multiple computers the location/size of the forms will be however you last saved them on each computer.

The issue you may be experiencing is most likely due to how MDI forms are displayed. Windows does not allow you to display a maximized window and a normal 'size-able' window at the same time (with the exception of the main application workspace form). If you maximize one form all forms have to be maximized. However when you 'restore' a form it will default to it's last position.

Where is the window positions stored? I now have two computers where the filter window positions itself off of the screen. The only thing I can do is hit esc to close it. I need to reset the position of the filter window so it displays on the screen. My screen is already at it's maximum resolution. Thanks for any help you can provide

In database version 6.5 and newer this is stored in the tbl_formSettings table.

In prior database versions it's stored in the local database file mt_init.mdb in the tbl_formLayout table.

Thank you! I am on version 6.5. I found and fixed the setting in tbl_formSettings table. I see that is per user. My left position setting was in the negative thousands. A future suggestions would be to add a "reset window positions to default" option. :-) Thanks again!

Glad you got your issue fixed.

I'm not sure how a negative number got in there. I'll add your reset idea to our suggestion database.

Have a nice day,

Todd

The issue of form's automatically restoring themselves has been addressed. Mouse Tracks 2009 allows detail forms to open as maximized. This fixes the behavior issue described in the original post.
