Hello Support,

When a user enters a username for one of the admins on our webtracks site, a password is not required to gain access. Leaving the password field blank and selecting login gives the user access. If you enter in the incorrect password the user is denied access as they should be.

If you attempt to log in with a non-admin user and you leave password field blank, you receive the message that the password is incorrect. The issue seems to only affect admin users.

I tried setting an admin user to non-admin and then the account behaved normally; you could not login when leaving the password field blank. When I changed the user back to admin, the issue returned.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Kyle

Hi Kyle,

I assume you are using Active Directory authentication.  Even if the authentication mode is not set to 'mixed', admins can still use mixed mode while end-users are forced to AD only.  This is by design to prevent a lockout of the admin user.  What you should do is change your Web Tracks password for your admin accounts (the default is blank as you noticed).

You can change the password for your admin accounts by signing in using the blank password and clicking the link in the upper right area of the app (the change password link only appear if you are signed in with your Web Tracks password).  You can also change the password from the Admin--Lookup Tables--Users and edit the appropriate account.

If you have any other questions let me know.

Thank you,
